Today, we’re shining the spotlight on one of our workshop wizards – Sid!

1. What’s your name and your role at Get Cycling?
Sid, bike mechanic.
2. How long have you been working with us?
2 years.
3. What do you enjoy most about working at Get Cycling?
The team are very friendly, and I really enjoy working with people with disabilities to get them on a set of wheels!

4. What inspired you to work in this field?
I’ve worked in the cycling trade for a very long time, and it feels really good to get everyone an opportunity to enjoy the pastime I love – for fun and independence.
5. What’s your favourite type of cycle we offer, and why?
Any of our off-road recumbents – to ride off the beaten track.
6. Can you share a memorable moment you’ve had while working here?
Just any time seeing one of our customers’ faces when they realise that they can ride.
7. How do you spend your time when you’re not at work?
Caring for my mum and dad, mountain biking, messing about with cars and attending car shows.
8. If you could take any of our cycles on an adventure, where would you go?
Gravel riding around Kielder Forest.
9. What’s one thing about you that might surprise your colleagues?
I’m 57 years young!

10. In your own words, why is the work we do important?
The work we do at Get Cycling CIC is important because it provides independence to those who seek it and offers everyone the chance to have fun alongside their friends.
